my town

i went to see a movie tonight in union square with aussie julie. instead of waiting what would probably be hours for the G train i walked home from the L. when i was waiting for the L (always such a long wait at night full of drunken hipster side part skinny panted pointy shoes)there were some tiny japanese men playing amazing jazz guitar. i felt like the people with ipods were missing out.

the wind was so cold my thighs froze and felt like slabs of frozen bacon had been pinned to my bones. i guess most of the usual G train crew walked home past the park and we formed a kind of pack with equal distances and fast paced walking. the streets around my house are deserted this time of night/morning and plastic bags rolled down the street like some sort of urban western.

its julies birthday and tomorrow we plan a day of fun/museum/theatre delights.

i am typing by the light of the laptop and it just turned 3am. as i walked home i thought i should take more photos. i like looking in peoples windows and imagining what they do.

i really feel like in this freezing cold climate people become much more like hibernating bears. its too cold to go out. i cant wait for summer when people start to venture outdoors again and stretch their legs. i want to ride bikes and have picnics and sketch.

last night i went to an artist talk (crashing kelley and pauls valentines night... third wheel style) of printmakers and got super inspired/jealous/depressed/excited about making prints and how much i miss it.

i found out i have to work on the public holiday on monday and i was pretty crabby at work today. i cant wait to stumble on that abandoned bag of money.
