shake it

the weekend went thus:
paulie, provider of all things necessary bought the copious amounts of grog for the party. we woke up late and contemplated all the things to do in the short amount of time. it required lists, so we wrote one and headed out to start ticking things off.
the most important part was shopping for our amazing party outfits- there were some real gem stores on manhattan ave that cater to the lower class, middle aged polish lady. the best place we found seemed to have everything in it priced at 3 for $10. we found:
some gold leather (the shop attendant told us they were genuine leather in broken english) pants with beaded strips down the sides
a strapless black pantsuit with a keyhole and a satin bow belt
a pink shiny snakeskin keyhole dress

among other delicasies. i felt bad at the guffawing we were doing with our hordes of clothes in the change room. in the end we decided on the superbowl themed dresses that were so odd and bedazzled and cheap that we couldnt resist.

julie, kelley and me. the diamond girls in all our glory. (anne was in providence for the wk end)

i rushed to get my hair done and it is a bit purple with a blond streak. i feel like its a 50 year old womans hairdo that she would get if she wanted to look "funky". but whatever, its hair.

the party was so fun. kelley and paul made their amazing famous sangria. not many people showed up which was great as it seemed to be the gang from twin peaks night and boy were we all ready to dance. as well as many hours perfecting group shake face.

we kept MY room empty so we could dance all the bad vibes of previous meanman out. we danced so much. we discovered the joy of wall dancing and corner dancing (basically putting your hands on the wall and facing the corner and throwing your head around). we did synchronised dance routines and a dance circle. it was great and a workout too!

there was a little bit of sickness- due to the drink of the night which paulie invented- the diamond in the rough. a brilliant concept but a bit hard to stomach. also the nonnas called the cops at around 3am coz when we were dancing and singing along to 'kocomo'. but what party is complete without the cops. also some random guys showed up at some point and i think they were disturbed to find a small gathering of wildly dancing nerds in an empty room.

at one point i got into the dj frenzy/blackout again where i was lining up all these killer songs and nodding in anticipation of how they would be danced to when paul came in and told me no one was there and i should turn the music off. i was wrenched from my frezy and came to only to notice i was alone in the corner of my room humming to myself at some classic tracks. oh well, theres always next party.

basically the same people from the party the night before came to twin peaks night on supebowl sunday. the episodes were seriously disturbing and scary. we heard the neighbourhood yell when the giants won the game.

i didnt get to sleep in my new room til monday night as i dont have a bed. i picked up a blow up matress from k-mart which is pretty comfortable but makes fartey noises every time i roll over.

i also joined my local YMCA so that i can get into my new, fit life. ha. i havent been yet. i've been too tired and on top of that tired in anticipation of working all weekend at a trade show. urg.

the most exciting thing of late has been video skype. the future is here.
