deathdrive

uggg. the drive home was exhausting. i was sad to leave little wens and mere and the hairy dogs..

we had fun. the day before last we headed in to downtown toronto again to the richy/classy district and had lunch at what was meant to be a "star spotting" hotspot but ended up just being a pretty average rooftop bar. it was the middle of the day on a tuesday so maybe that was why we saw no one of note.. we looked at mere's diamond ring that she wants from tiffany's! it was so glamorous, i've never been ring shopping. it was good to see i hated them all so have no need to fork out millions for bling.

then we went up the CN tower! its that huge pointy one... it was SO full on! i worked myself into a frenzy.. i'm so much more scared of heights than i remember. the elevator was a glass walled speeding nightmare! i had to hold on with two hands and feign delight. it was fine once we were up and snapped great photos of the city but then we went to the glass floor.... oh my god. it was HILARIOUS but disturbing at the same time. i could NOT walk on it, even if i didnt look down it was too full on. SO far down to the tiny cars and street. everyone laughed at me, i had to hold on to mere and crawl towards the edge of the glass part. i know it must have looked so odd. i was laughing/sweating/hyperventilating. i sat on it at one point for a photo but i couldnt look down for fear of DYING even though i knew i wouldnt. totally irrational.

it was worth it and i recovered well. yesterday wens and i drove to the mall and shopped all day. it was reasonably unsuccessful but at least we got mere a pressie.

then we ate SO much AGAIN! we had salmon and mashed potatos and greek salad and apple crumble. BLOAT! and we watched transformers which i love. a great last night.

today i left cold and foggy toronto and spent the whole day trauling through crap radio stations. i heard some songs like 10 times on different stations. i liked umbrella until i heard it for the 50millionth time. then pennsylvania only has christian rock... or early 90's rock. man, some of those songs i havent heard in YEARS! the only good bit was singing along to "oh i wanna dance with somebody" and my fav "unbreak my heart"- and even then i was ashamed. i dont think they have anything thats NOT horrible top 40 (or in this case a mix of top 5 only?), country, early 90's soft rock or current soft rock. bleh.

its exhausting hauling a tiny car at top speed in the constant dance of changing lanes. but i didnt get lost once! it was pretty fine and i am now semi homelike and tired.
