what you call it urban

This week i am the boss. its been fun so far- i like crossing things off a list, it makes me feel productive. also organising the interns has been fun- i even let them leave early!

summer is definitely here. marcus and i drove up to mont-real(ly pretty) to visit wens and ange. it was a fun drive in our hyundai and we got to see where wens is living and ange's cute little place in a great part of the city. for the most part we drank a lot. and then we napped a lot. and we ate copious amounts of good food (ange is a master cook- and a master coffee connoisseur). it was such a nice relaxing time. we played pool and walked down a street where the mannequins seemed to all have been made by inbred homeless people. for some (sad) reason i was surprised everyone speaks french! i didnt even think to learn token phrases. luckily of course they all speak english but i still felt a bit foolish. there were so many cute little colorful apartments with spiral staircases and lots of good bike lanes.

it was hard to go back to work. especially since it has been hella hot and aimee is not a friend of her aircon.

dad just came to visit for a few days and stayed at the ymca near my house. he fit right in at the diner on the corner (and in the gym- flexing his muscles like a young thing). one day he met a cool old man who invited him to lunch the next day with MICHAEL CRICHTON!!!! dad didnt even know who he was!!! he said he felt out of place since they were only talking about DINOSAURS!! jurassic parkslope!!! anyway dad took us out to some nice ritzy meals and also bought me a nice chunky lock for my NEW BIKE!

its pink and purple. its called huffy. or jezzie. she's a hussy jezebel. with a light. i rode her home from upper east side and i cant even explain the rush of zooming down the streets past the slow waddling pedestrians. i plan on riding lots, in bike gangs preferably.

i am the luckiest nyc dweller as i always have guests. next week is kelsie and wens!!!! the sisters taking back NYC!!! woop! i cant wait.

i have been unbelievably broke recently. but i plan on changing that when i get paid tomorrow and go on a shopping spree!
