summerlove

the blinds next to my desk at work are rattling in a breeze that seems to me the perfect temperature. i'm listening to crowded house (i like letting my ipod shuffle itself to see if i still like my music collection). its almost lunchtime but since we havent had the internet at home i need to update

i got a sunburn!
marcus and i had an awesome weekend that invloved:
missing the bus to six flags and then spending the day instead reading the unbearable lightness of being in the park with cocktail extravaganza, cheese, chocolate, strawberries, chips and shade.

we played pool since i am determined to get better whilst looking better. as usual there were a few fluke shots, but it was a novelty playing sober.

we made the bus to six flags on sunday and it was the perfect day weather- wise. and fun -wise too. i got a bit sick in the morning but managed to ignore it to the extent that we made almost all the rides- except the really HUGE one that is the tallest in the world (something like that. nightmarish with lights on it so PLANES dont crash into it... gulp)
i was saddened to realise my old age is the cause for my new found fear of rides, but as long as there was a shoulder harness i was fit to go. much laughing and old woman whooping ensued. i liked the superman ride where the seats flipped over so that we were in classic superman flying pose. up up and away. is that superman? or peter pan? astroboy? hm. the stunted childhood.

we missed the bus home

the gravity of being 1 1/2 hours and $200 taxis worth away from home had not quite set in when another bus arrived and took us home via some small jersey town. we crashed. too much fun for two young things to handle in one weekend.

it was a long weekend!! so we ate more and read more and drank more all day on monday! the weather was so nice, the park was packed with hordes of semi naked trendsters ripe for some good ol abuse and chortling from marcus and i. the girl doing yoga was definitely my pick for some unwarranted leg kicking if i was so inclined (and i was. under my breath)

last night marcus and i ran in central park. i felt like i was a part of a huge exercising organism that is new york. we chatted so it seemed to make it easier. i love getting lost in central park- every time i go in there i see something i've never seen before. this time it was a stunning sunset over the lake surrounded by those expensive, elusive apartments all lit up. then we ate fried chicken and drank beer on the balcony.

the week has gone fast and warm. i am getting my hair cut and dyed on sunday. i cant wait. i miss talking to the fam though so hopefully internet at home will be revived soon.
