spring cleaning

i had a couple of exciting/bizarre nights last week.

on wednesday i went to an elle fashionista party. so i knew some vague deets bout my boss giving some of her clothes to a new reality tv show for elle magazine or something- alls i knew is that i was taking everything in to make it extra small.... then i hear about some exclusivo party which i'm not invited to as leah gets first dibs being aimee's assistant and all... sigh. i was bummed.... UNTIL... leah decided to be good and go to class instead. i wore an aimee g dress and some "pumps"- finally a night out in the fashion world like i've always dreamed! unfortunately it was just lame excuse to get extras for their show. it was awkward and crowded- there was free booze and hundreds of camera men. i thought there would just be some subtle camera use in the midst of our wild party but instead we had to adhere by strict rules, no music, no cell phones and we kept being told to stand up and clear the area down the middle. LAME! i'm sure if i knew more designers i would have recognised some famous faces but instead i just payed everyone out with the amazing gay guys sitting next to us from marc jacobs. we named everyone like "red disaster" and stuff while guzzling watermelon coctails.

since i'd had no dinner, against my better judgement i thought it would be "fun" to accompany aimee to see her husband sing in greenwich. alas, it was nice singing and guitaring, but awkward once i realised i was on DATE with my BOSS. i left as soon as i could.

on friday i had another date (not really, dont get excited) with my mate keiran who i met out a while ago. hes from sydders and trying to find work in this fair city. he was getting his shoes shined when i met him. we went to the whitney and i embarrassed myself with my lack of art knowledge whilst huffing at all the horrible artwork like an old nanna. next up was karaoke in the east village and then sushi in the crowded sushi lounge. so worth it, that sushi is divine!

keiran and i continued to sample some alcoholic delicacies in a dive bar that we renamed 'titsy mcfaggots'. it was divey- complete with scary tattooed bar tender wench and bad juke box rock. we wandered more, took our drinks out of a closing bar and then knocked on random door and got buzzed in!!!!! it was so highschool! when someone answered the door and said "who are you?" we said "we're here for the party". turns out the guy was a kiwi and welcomed us in with open arms! RANDOM. i pretended to know a lot about rugby and threw around words like "scrum" and "offside" until we left.

alas, i lost my red bow belt as i stumbled from my taxi home. sigh, i really loved that belt, especially the way it complemented my Hungarian style print skirt...

speaking of all things fashion. i had a horrible realisation today- i am not stylish

i always thought i was, but i have such a limited wardrobe these days, coupled with no money and a lack of inspiration i end up wearing jeans and boring tops. i was horrified to realise i may come across as BORING. my worst nightmare!!! i must remedy this ASAP! i mean its not enough to have few key cool pieces, i need ALL my clothes to be amazing so that whatever i throw on is stupendously stylish.

this ties nicely in to my desire to quit my job and focus on working in films, sewing aforementioned outfits and crashing more glamorous parties.

weather= still cold!

WEE!

wens come so soon! and hamish!! SO FUN
