t to the ronto

wens and i had a nightmare time of waiting around all week for my licence to arrive from australia- someone sent my purse back to my house minus my ipod and cash.... weird. but good coz i desperately needed that licence. unfortunately it was a few horrid days of waiting around on the couch watching endless movies with wens and calling fedex to hassle them. why do they insist on being so icompetent?? they just kept it in customs for no reason without telling me and said sorry, it will be a day late!

we cut it so close. my licence finally arrive yesterday morning and it was such a huge relief to be reunited with my wallet and feel it in my hands again. so odd. then the guy came to take us to our rental car! perfect timing!

it was SO fun. it was great to be behind the weel again, felt familiar and we are driving a tiny toyota yaris. tiny. and weak. but we listened to cheesy radio and drove up through the gorgeous scenery that i wanted to see- all the changing leaves and little cottages and red barns. so CUTE. we went up though pennsylvania with lots of churches and the top of new york state. we kept pointing and oohing. and taking photos. we had a lunch/breaky at a diner and drove and drove. wens even drove! she was on the highway so it was fine and she did really well. we went through canadian customs and felt suspicious but the lady didnt even bat an eyelash. we had one stuff up where we entered the freeway on the wrong side but finally made it to mere's gorgeous little house.

we ate tacos and chatted about dogs and watched tv and went to bed. wens and i are sharing and apparently i talked in my sleep. i slept so well. its freezing cold here though... and i feel sorta like i should be sewing that coat... but its a vacation!! my life is a vacation!! i love it.
