well here we are. we made it. we drove in to jersey city right to this huge house and dropped off our car (brian) in a quick frenzy where i didnt even get a chance to say goodbye and thanks for driving us..
wes and juan are super nice. juan is deaf but very good at talking through wes. we learned the alphabet and things like goodbye but we really need to learn more.
we have been tourists on foot. we scoff at the red tourist bus as it drives by and stop to plaster my blistered feet in bandaids. its been great. we've walked

well... kinda. every day has been heading out into the perfect not-too-hot weather to the light rail stop which is literally right outside our door. we're masters of the subway. we even went to the grocery store and cooked an overly garlic pesto pasta (our specialty). juans parents are here from mexico and dont speak much english but i am very ashamed of my abilities and have feigned non understanding. rude i know. upstairs is crofton who is so nice. downstairs is carl and justin. everyone is pleasant and friendly.
i have no job or house options
but i am in the process... sorta
its a very big place and everyone is really out for themselves and minimum wage is dismal. but boy is it exciting
