HOLE-brook

after 3 straight days of driving i have decided that more stinge is required. hence staying at a crappy motel six in a tiny hole of a town called hollbrook in arizona.

vegas was HOT. but everywhere is airconditioned so you end up being cold... we were very tired after our 7 hour drive on the WRONG side of the road to get there.. we couldnt find our hotel/casino. but finally we did. 'arizona charlie's'. even though we were in nevada... we drove down the strip to catch the bright lights but only used the pokies at our casino and crashed.. not super glamorous but good enough.
yesterday we went to the grand canyon via amazing desert and then amazing forest. the north rim was recommended to us and it was worth the 25 bucks to get in. it was very deceptive- trees all the way up until this massive, breathtaking, all encompassing view just hits you. it was everything i imagined and more. we stayed at a cheazzy inn that was a rip off and listened to the people next door talking and snoring.
today we drove through more amazing landscapes and indian reserves to a cool town called flagstaff where a huge storm had just hit and all the power was out. we couldnt get into the cute diner and all the stop lights were out. but we're such pro;s of the road now we cruised around until the power came back on. our boring white car, brian i named him, is really ok. but a bit silly and nervous sometimes.
we're on our way to new mexico.. texas... louisiana.
and now we're doing it on the cheap- we plan on writing a book. we bought sandwich stuffs... we only use free ice from hotels... we steal ketchup and mustard from diners (well not yet but we got PLANS)
in other words we drive a lot, and switch through multiple crap radio stations... and we love it
