timezones

last night i was awoken by a coughing fit and i happened to glance down at my silent phone and clare was calling... at 4:30am. then i had a panic that maybe she'd try the home number and i stumbled towards the phone and hovered over it with my fingers crossed for what seemed like hours... eventually i went back to sleep.
i talked to paula today- she's staying in queens and wants to come to the fashion expo with me tomorrow... which might be hard considering i was probably going to lie about my amazing qualifications.
today i bought a housewarming gift for wes and juan from a gift register at bed bath and beyond. it was the first time i've used a gift register and it was much more painful than i'd imagined: why dont they show you what others have already bought so you can be different? and then when i found the designated color of dish cloth i wondered if i could branch out and change colors? is there rules? i decided on "taupe" place mats and when i got home and put my wrapped box with the rest of them juan showed me the list on the internet (not knowing what i'd bought i hope) to boast about 11 gifts having been bought... and there i saw WOVEN REED place mats that someone had already bought.
how was i to know. but how embarassing too. i'll just make sure mines opened first
